Doughboyea, Hello there! Unfortunately there will be certain devices that just do not work 100% with a universal remote. You basically have two options with this scenario: 1.) Attempt a manual code search for the device in question. 2.)the cable box uses code 900 I think to program. you can try that, or see if that giant remote has a generic manual search procedure. the verizon remote has a manual search, so maybe the giant remote does too. but in general I am pretty sure the VZ set top box uses 900 for its programming codeNewbie. 06-18-2013 11:26 AM. My Fios TV remote has recently stopped responding for certain aspects eg Guide, DVR, menu buttons etc will not work. The remote still powers the tv so I can turn it on and off and control the volume as normal. I have tried reprogramming the remote and changing the batteries and nothing seems to work..
