My 4K AppleTV has worked fine with my Vizio system for quite a while, but the latest update seems to have messed up the audio controls. I've gone into Settings on the AppleTV and taught it the soundbar remote, so it shows "Soundbar via IR", but it doesn't ...Go on to your TV’s audio settings. Turn off the ‘ TV Speaker ’ option and enable the ‘ Optical ’ or a similar option. Now, turn on the ‘ Source ’ button on your Soundbar and adjust it to ‘ Optical ’. This makes your TV Set understand that from now on sound has to be passed on through the Soundbar. 5.The only way the roku remote would control the vizio soundbar is via hdmi-cec. The roku controls the tv volume, and tv controls the vizio be sending signals over the hdmi cable.
